Acupunture: First-Aid Needling Course, Cupping & Moxa

This is a 6-day certificated course designed for therapists willing to dive into the ancient art of Acupuncture, Moxa and Cupping. The seminar can open a new door in your bodywork universe enhancing your existing skills. It is also the ideal introduction to needling for students considering the full-time Acupuncture training.

The course is taught in a friendly atmosphere with an emphasis on learning a new approach to help your patients. The 6-day program will offer a complete introduction to some basic and safe needling covering a set of important points providing a valuable adjunct to your practice. Knowledge of both anatomy and physiology is recommended.
This course will grant an official certification from the Wiltshire Acupuncture Practice. This certification does not qualify students as acupuncturists.

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort (a small, spongy herb) to facilitate healing. You will see how the application of mild heat at selected points is used to strengthen the blood and stimulate the flow of Qi. Also, how its applications for deficient, cold or damp conditions is used for boosting immunity and maintaining the general health.

Small glass jars are heated to create a vacuum and then placed at strategic points on the skin to promote the flow of Qi and blood and help local congestion. You will see how Cupping opens the meridians, releases toxins, activates lymphatic system and also helps in the treatment of pain, gastrointestinal disorders, lung diseases (especially chronic cough and asthma).

Daily Schedule
7.30am – 8.30am: Meditation & Yoga/TaiChi
8.30am – 10am: Hearty Breakfast
10am - 1.00pm: Acupunture 1
1.30pm – 4.00pm: Lunch & rest
4.00pm – 7.00pm: Acupunture 2
7.00pm – 8.30pm: Dinner
8.30pm – 9.30pm: Bhakti Yoga, Sauna & more
10pm: Mouna - Silence

Arrival: May 7th 4pm – Dinner + Opening Circle.
Departure: May 13th, after dinner

This course is residential and the price includes three meals, accommodation, material used and a comprehensive set of course notes.

George Dellar is the principal of the Wiltshire acupuncture practice and graduated from the South West College of Oriental Medicine after a thorough training in traditional acupuncture and western medical sciences appropriate to the practice of acupuncture. He is also a qualified Shiatsu practitioner and has been a teacher of Oriental medicine since 1995. He teaches independently and for the European Shiatsu School (ESS) and other independent schools in Europe. He is fully insured and maintains the common standards of ethics, disciplines and practice to ensure the health and safety of his clients and students at all times.

A minimum of 10 students is required for the course to take place.

At the end of this course, you will achieve an attendance certificate, provided you pass the necessary level to obtain this certificate, you will then be
allowed to needle during your insurance term. If you are already insured with an organisation other than Balens Ltd, you may wish to contact
them to arrange the necessary needling insurance. Please supply us a copy of your insurance certificate confirming the needling insurance prior to the start of the course.
